Hull FC Reserves to get first run out this weekend

Hull FC Reserves will finally get a run out this weekend, UTC understands.

The Black and Whites will host Wakefield Trinity at Bishop Burton College on Saturday 16th February at 2:30pm. The fixture will be part of a triple header involving the City of Hull Academy and Scholarship teams.

News on the Reserve concept has been sparse to say the least, with frustration apparent after the u-turn in Super League clubs actually bothering to run a side.

Still though, Hull FC are hoping to play around a dozen games at this level this season, with venues set to be spread between Bishop Burton College and Brantingham Park. Hull University has even been considered.

The game on Saturday will be a welcome fixture for numerous members of Hull FC’s squad, with players such as Levy Nzoungou, Brad Fash, and Danny Langtree not playing since the friendly outing at St Helens last month.

An outing with Wakefield will give them some much needed game-time, and hopefully create a selection dilemma for head coach Lee Radford.

Hull FC’s Reserve team will be coached by Gareth Ellis in 2019.

Triple Header at Bishop Burton College:

Development Under 16’s – 11.00am Kick Off v Midlands Rugby – The Croft Pitch

Academy Under 19’s – 12.30pm Kick Off v Wakefield Trinity – Main Pitch

Reserves – 2.30pm Kick Off – Hull FC v Wakefield Trinity – Main Pitch
