Hull FC kept up their impressive start to the season, thrashing Salford 35-4 at Langtree Park on Saturday afternoon.
Here are Up the Cream’s individual player reviews. Back by popular demand. Obvs.
Full Back: Jake Connor – The best player on the field by a distance. Jake the Snake was incredible. Two assists. Teased. Tormented. Sent dummies flying. Stepped up. Man of the Match. Brilliant. Just brilliant.
Left Wing: Adam Swift – Two solid games under his belt now. Deserves some recognition after a rancid season last year. Error free and went for 190 metres as Hull’s outside backs ran riot.
Left Centre: Josh Griffin – Hard graft every week but also coming up with one or two flashy touches as well. His metre making abilities are ridiculous – 166 last week wasn’t enough for him, so he got 217 here. Up against Kallum Watkins too. Not bad. Not bad at all.
Right Centre: Carlos Tuimavave – Ah, Carlos. Strong, silky, and those triceps… Eat your greens people. The bloke is just incredible. Ran for 196 metres. There’s a pattern developing here.
Right Wing: Mahe Fonua – This is the Fonua we remember. Spring in his step, golden teeth and that mullet. Beautiful. Ran for just 117 metres though. Lazy sod.
Stand Off: Josh Reynolds – Two tries either side of half time from everybody’s new favourite Aussie were huge in Hull taking the game away. Squeaky bum time now as we wait for news on his hamstring.
Half Back: Marc Sneyd – It’s true, Lionel Messi wears Marc Sneyd pyjamas. That left peg comes up with the goods time and time again. Majestic. Fingers crossed he’ll be good to go next week after a bang to his thigh.
Prop: Chris Satae – The big fella skittles people in his sleep and wins the floor more than most. Really impressive again.
Hooker: Danny Houghton – Rejuvenated, Mint has been something like his old self again. It’s great to see.
Prop: Ligi Sao – Was on course to cover every blade of grass before he rolled his ankle and took the rest of the day off. He’s a player alright.
Left Back Row: Manu Ma’u – Carried strongly but blew two try scoring opportunities when opting to pass the ball. That’s all we’ll say as he still scares the shit out of us.
Right Back Row: Andre Savelio – Getting better with every game he plays. Great line for his try to get the ball rolling. He’s a class act.
Loose Forward: Jordan Lane – The Lane Train. Sublime again. What a start to the season from the boy from Boothferry.
Prop: Scott Taylor – The big fellas set the platform and the engines finish them off. That’s how it’s worked in the first two games. Tag was outstanding, running for 154 metres and still smashing opposition players in the 75th minute. As you do.
Loose Man: Joe Cator – Picked up from where he left off last season. Outstanding. Both him and Lane. Let’s just enjoy them. Ran for 170 metres. Never stops.
Prop: Brad Fash – A really solid return to the team on his 100th career appearance. The mullet is sensational.
Centre: Cameron Scott – Ran a great line to score the games final try. Latest baby-faced assassin to come through the ranks. Clearly impressed during pre-season and taking his opportunity well.
