Radford says Hull FC are down to last 17 players

Hull FC head coach Lee Radford has admitted the club are down to their last 17 fit players as they battle on through the Super League ‘Super 8s’.

Injuries have been well-documented all season, with Jordan Abdull and Josh Griffin the latest to hit the bug, both ruled out for Friday’s game against Castleford.

They join Albert Kelly, Marc Sneyd, Mark Minichiello, Josh Bowden, Jake Connor, Chris Green, Mickey Paea and Joe Westerman on the sidelines.

“I’ve got 17 fit blokes,” said Radford. “I named 19 but neither Josh Griffin nor Jordan Abdull are fit.

“I don’t know what happens if we pick a few more up. I know Featherstone played with 14 last week so I don’t know what the situation would be then.”

Kind of ironic after Abdull handed in a transfer request. We do love a conspiracy…
