Former Hull FC player Jansin Turgut has suffered serious head injuries after a fall in Ibiza on Monday morning.
The 23-year-old Hull-born former Black and White was rushed to the Nuestra Senora del Rosario Clinic on the island at around 3am following a fall from the third storey of the airport car park. He’s in a ‘critical condition’.
Local Spanish police told the Daily Star, “We can confirm it is him (Turgut) and he is in a very serious state in hospital. There is nothing more that we can say at the moment. We are looking into the incident and we are talking with his family.”
Turgut was in Ibiza following his sacking from Salford earlier this month. His last game for the Super League side was against Hull back in April.
The Turkish international was originally suspended, having breached an off-field club protocol.
Salford’s statement read at the time: “The club would like to thank Jansin for his time at the Red Devils and will be making no further comment on the subject.”
By all accounts the former England Academy captain was doing well at Salford this season before his time there ended.
As of Tuesday Jansin is still in a critical condition, but he has his mum Carole beside him.

Everyone at the Up the Cream fanzine would like to send their best wishes to Jansin, who was always approachable in his time at Hull FC, and hope he recovers as soon as possible.
