A group of rugby league fans are walking from Hull to Leeds in aid of Rob Burrow, who was recently diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
The Black and Whites head to Headingley on Sunday 2nd February for a blockbuster Super League double header that sees newly promoted Toronto take on Castleford, before Leeds host Hull FC.
The group have been inspired to challenge themselves in order to raise funds for Rob, aiming to get to Headingley in time for the first game.
The walk will be split over two days on the weekend of 1st/2nd February, with the route taking the group from Hull FC’s County Road training ground, through Castleford and into Leeds. All proceeds from the challenge will go to support Rob and his family.
The plan is to leave Hull FC’s County Road training ground at 8:30am on the Saturday morning (1st Feb), before walking to Castleford and stopping overnight. The second leg will be on the Sunday morning (2nd Feb) from Castleford to Leeds with an 8:30am start, getting to Headingley for around 12:30pm.
Rugby AM, particularly Wayne Godwin aka Wagga, will be at both ends of the journey to support, also lending recording and video equipment so the group can update followers whilst on the walk.
It is hoped that fans of all teams will join the group en route, especially on the Sunday.
The names of those doing the walk are:
Dan Tomlinson (partly)
