Three Hull FC players named in revised England squad

England have named three Hull FC players in their revised Elite Performance Squad for the rest of 2019.

Black and White trio Jake Connor, Jamie Shaul and Scott Taylor are all included once again in a 27-man squad. The side will meet up in August, with the World Cup Nines coming up in Sydney in October, not to mention the revamped Great Britain’s end of season tour to New Zealand and Papua New Guinea soon after.

Connor played a key role in last year’s England series win over New Zealand, having made his debut in Denver against the same opposition. The Snake now has four tries in five England appearances. Shaul also made his debut last year but against France, whereas Taylor has been involved in the England set up since 2016, but didn’t play in the Baskerville Shield series.

Due to travel etc, there are no current NRL players in the EPS.

  1. Would have been nice to see Sneyd, Griffo or Savelio get a nod. I would guess that Lockers is there more as a mentoring role when they say they’re building for the next World Cup in 2021.
