Hull FC have confirmed that Jordan Thompson has left the club with immediate effect.
The 27-year-old has signed once again for Leigh, the club he left East Yorkshire for at the end of 2017.
Thompson rejoined Hull after spending the Qualifiers part of 2018 with Leeds, but he’s found regular playing opportunity hard to come by recently, just like he did two years ago, and now leaves the club once again for the same reasons.
He is the third of Hull FC’s six signings for 2019 to leave the club this year, following earlier exits for Andrew Bulman and Danny Langtree.
Just Levy Nzoungou, Charlie Graham and Matty Dawson-Jones remain.
Dawson-Jones is now running again following an ACL injury, whereas young winger Graham continues to impress in the Reserves.
The three departures certainly don’t advocate Hull FC’s recruitment for this season, at least in a positive way.
Luckily the quality was already in house, although the realisation now is some of the current squad is coming to the end of its cycle and will be refreshed for 2020.
We’ve seen that in new signings Josh Jones and Adam Swift, whilst overseas recruitment is yet to be announced.
